Veterans Navigator
The Veterans Navigator program was created to assist Veterans and military families of ALL eras and discharge types. They work to connect Veterans and their families to federal, state and local resources to ease issues regarding mental health, substance use, housing and other common challenges that impact Veterans in order to support healthier lifestyles and provide support.
MDHHS Veterans Navigator Project
This video reflects the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Administration (BHDDA) Veterans Navigator Project review and highlights for fiscal year 2020 (October 1, 2019-September 30, 2020). Brain Webb, BHDDA Veteran Liaison, and some of the Veteran Navigators explain the Walking With Warriors and Women Veteran Strong projects, drive-through COVID-19 Care Package events, and the Heroes Haven organization, all of which have provided support to Michigan Veterans and families members through the past year. The video was made as an alternative to the annual BHDDA Veterans Summit, which was cancelled in November 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. The primary target audience for this video are Michigan Veterans, military members and their families, the publicly funded behavioral health provider network, key stakeholders and colleagues, PIHPs, and CMHSPs.
