SUD Treatment Provider Training Requirements

SUD Treatment Training Requirement
Grievance & Appeal Training

Overview

For trainings offered by both the PIHP and the improvingmipractices.org website, staff need to take only one of the trainings and maintain proof of training including certificates and quizzes where applicable.

SUD provider staff are to take the SUD/SA specific Recipient Rights trainings found on the Improving MI Practices website at https://www.improvingmipractices.org/

SUD provider staff are not to take the CMH/MH Recipient Rights class as some criteria and processes do not apply to the SUD population.

Use of the trainings in https://www.improvingmipractices.org/ requires registration. Registration and use of the site is free. Training completed on improvingmipractices.org may also provide credit hours for some staff licensure/certification.

Completion and maintenance of training requirements will be included in the PIHP monitoring of SUD Providers and required at the time of credentialing and re-credentialing.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Screening

There is not a state-specific training for fetal alcohol syndrome screening. Providers are expected to train their staff on screening process and use of the screening tool, to ensure they know how to complete an FASD prescreen, and document that staff were trained.
